From little seeds mighty acorns (or in this case carrots) grow!
I have always had a creative streak and first started making cards for my friends and family at the age of about 12.

As the years went on I perfected my skills and learnt more about card making.

When I went to university (I studied Drama and Performance) I stopped card making as I had little time and space to do so, but once I graduated and moved into a flat with my partner I started making again! I had so many comments over the years of people telling me I should sell my cards but it took me several years before I was able to act.
After graduating I started working in a theatre in marketing, house management and administration and had very little time to run a shop too!

After 4 years of working at the theatre I become poorly (we now know its IBS, not very sexy or exciting but there you go! Haha!) I couldn't work and it took a long time to work out what it was. When I was able to return, my bosses said I couldn't go back into the role I had been in for years and absolutely adored and so I made the really hard decision to leave.

After a few months of feeling pretty defeated and low I decided that enough was enough and I was going to do what I'd been told to do all these years - start selling the things I make!
I started with a few concrete creations, and slowly as time went on, my collection of lovely items grew and finally included the thing that started the passion, cards!

I love creating so much it works wonders for my mental health and gives me something to focus on. I have 2 others jobs but the plan is for me to be able to run Crafty Carrot Gifts as a business full time!
